Position Summary:

The Director/Sr. Director of Market Finance will serve as finance liaison to the President of the Markets and General Managers to understand each market’s annual financial plan (budget), forecast, multi-year financial plan and execute strategic operating plan for all markets. This position will also oversee the development, communication and execution of new market expansions. 

General Duties/Responsibilities (May include but are not limited to):

  • Monthly review of financial performance of existing providers with market leaders.
  • Partner with market leaders on strategic initiatives and drive targeted membership growth
  • valuate path to profitability for low performing providers
  • Develops and evaluates financial analyses and builds models to support new market/strategic investment opportunities for AHC.    
  • Collaborate with Director of FP&A in developing annual budgeting process, quarterly forecast and development of five-year forecast.
  • Analyze various strategic projects and incorporate into the financial plan.
  • Provides monthly / quarterly analyses on various issues, e.g. cash flow analysis, capital spending performance, etc.
  • Assist with implementation of new expansion markets (modeling, reporting, system configuration, business processes, etc.).
  • Prepare financial projections needed for regulatory filings
  • Work with market leaders to provide the financial analysis and modeling as needed  
  • Evaluate profitability of new products, new markets, new lines of business
  • Assist with corporate financings (debt and equity) and M&A transactions, as needed.
  • Prepare various financial reports and analysis for executive and board review.
  • Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for providing financial analysis; implement policies and procedures.
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of staff responsible for providing financial analysis services.
  • Participate in the selection of finance staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures.
  • Must demonstrate attendance sufficient to complete the duties of the position as required.
  • Performs related duties similar to the above in scope and function as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversees assigned staff. Responsibilities include recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; assigning workload; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; and coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of finance and/or budget experience
  • At least 5 years of managing finance/budget team
  • Education/Licensure:
  • Bachelor of Science in Business or Accounting preferred
  • Other:
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of finance administration in accounting, budgeting, and auditing.
  • Knowledge of operations, services and activities of a budgetary program.
  • Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation.
  • Procedures, methods and techniques of management and organization.
  • Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations.
  • Modern office equipment including computers.
  • Translate financial goals into an appropriate budgeting system.
  • Analyze financial information and project income and expenditures.
  • Project the fiscal impact of impending legislation on the Department of Education or its programs.
  • Devise and adapt procedures and systems to meet changing fiscal needs.
  • Supervise, organize, and review the work of professional, technical, and clerical personnel.
  • Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff.
  • Interpret and explain budget policies and procedures.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Use complex computer systems.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations; communicating with others; reading and writing; and operating assigned equipment.
  • Maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of making sound decisions and demonstrating intellectual capabilities.

Pay Range: $195,000 - $215,000 annually.
