Position Summary:

  • Access Primary Care Physicians is seeking an organized, detail-oriented front office medical receptionist who is passionate about healthcare and customer service to join the team of collaborative physicians and medical assistants.
  • This role is responsible for providing patient-oriented service in a clinical front office setting; performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of patient care.

General Duties/Responsibilities (May include but are not limited to):

  • Greets patients in a friendly, service-oriented manner in compliance with policies and workflows.
  • Answer multiple phone lines; directs calls and takes messages as needed.
  • Oversees patient check in by ensuring medical records/charts have been pulled, patient data is current, appropriate paperwork is in order, and charts are reviewed/prepared.
  • Oversees patient check out by scheduling follow up appointments, collecting co-payment if applicable, ensuring paperwork is complete.
  • Schedules and confirms patient appointments.

Minimum Requirements:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in medical reception and customer service.
  • Experience working with Medicare population preferred.

 

Education/Licensure:

  • High school diploma; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background required.
  • Medical Assistant certification from an accredited school of training preferred.

Other:

  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations.
  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
  • Treats people with respect; Keeps commitments; Inspires the trust of others; Works with integrity and ethically.
