Position Summary: 

 

The Manager, Operations Finance drives and coordinates budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, purchase order creation, invoice payment, and time tracking across the information technology, provider reimbursement, and member / provider engagement functions comprising a significant portion of Alignment Health’s operations and SG&A spend. The Director, Operations Finance partners cross-functionally with Alignment Health’s Finance, HCM, and other functions to ensure compliance with operating and capital expense budgets and plays a critically important role in Alignment Health’s achievement of profitability and other financial objectives.

General Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting: work with the Chief Information and Chief Technology Officers, functional area leaders, and Financial Planning & Analysis teams to define and distribute budget targets, manage refinements with each iterative budget pass, and arrive at a final budget balancing the ability of functional areas to achieve operational targets with meeting the targets set by the Financial Analysis & Planning team.
  • Forecasting: coordinate application of functional area leader inputs throughout the month to produce a monthly forecast for the Financial Planning & Analysis team.
  • Financial reporting: create and distribute monthly and quarterly budget variance and other reports as required. Coordinate the aggregation of variance explanations across functional area leaders who are cost center owners.
  • Purchase order creation/invoice payment: supervise the Finance Coordinator and other team members in receiving functional area inputs to create purchase orders against which external vendors may invoice, and in approving accurate and timely invoice payment against products and services received.
  • Time tracking: oversee the time tracking system used primarily by information technology internal and external resources to track time against projects and other activities, and ensure the appropriate financial treatment of associated internal and external labor costs as operating and capital expenses. Coordinate the onboarding of new internal and external resources to the time tracking system and define new projects against which time may be tracked, ensuring that the associated costs are treated and reported appropriately.
  • Internally developed software asset management: track and report on the placement of such assets into service and impairment of assets previously placed into service which are superseded.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Initially supervise the Finance Coordinator with the potential to grow the team as determined by the level of effort required to support the scope of responsibilities.


Minimum Requirements: 

 

  • 5+ years financial analysis/management experience in healthcare
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience using financial reporting, ERP, procure-to-pay, business intelligence, and/or budgeting/forecasting packages
  • Excellent and demonstrated written and verbal communications skills and ability to interact professionally and productively with colleagues at all levels and business functions.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
